Sherry Cline Tilley, 45, of Pineville, WV passed away Friday
November 7, 2008 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio. Sherry
was born October 27, 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio a daughter of Roy Cline of
Indian Creek, WV and Charla Cline of Beaver, WV. She was a loving
mother and a graduate of Pineville High School. She was preceded in
death by her husband Brian Keith Graybeal, step-father Jackie Ray Tilley
and brother-in-law Barry Graybeal.  Survivors include a daughter Candice
Cline of High Point, NC; three sons Brad Graybeal, Jesse Graybeal and
Ernest Cline all of Pineville, WV; a sister Bianca Cline of Charleston, WV;
two brothers Jeffery Cline of Morgantown, WV and Charles Cline of
Arkansas; five grandchildren Issiah Graybeal, Kaidance Nashae Cline,
Trey Monroe, Christopher McLendon and Tori Allen; dear friend Robert

Johnathan "Browning" Johnson, 31, of Lynco, WV, passed away Tuesday November 4, 2008 in Pennsylvania
from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born August 18, 1977 in Man, WV, a son of Curtis "Bud"
Browning, Jr. of Clay, WV and Donna Johnson Fox of Kissimmee, FL. Johnathan was a coal truck driver and a 1995
graduate of Oceana High School. Survivors also include his step-mother Missy Browning of Clay, WV; grandparents
Curtis and Betty Browning of Oceana, Arvis Johnson of Oceana and Bertha Taylor of Kissimmee, FL; a sister Tonya

Cora Lee Stamey Harvey, 84, of Lynco, WV, passed away Sunday November 2, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital,
Beckley, WV. Cora Lee was born June 14, 1924 in Morganton, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Walter and Elsie
Stamey. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kopper City Bottom Full Gospel Tabernacle. Her loving
husband James Howard Harvey, a daughter Debra Lee "Debbie" Belcher and two brothers Roy and Carl Stamey also
preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter Eloise Thomas and husband Ira of Burnsville, NC; a sister
Wyonnie Clark of Morganton, NC; two granddaughters Tina Matelski and husband Dennis and Sheryl Giganti and
husband Vincent, IV; a great grandson Vincent Giganti, V; several sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and a

Robert Anthony "Tony" Blevins, 30, of Matheny, WV, returned to heaven on October 16, 2008. Tony was born
December 8, 1977 in Welch, WV.  His paternal grandparents Thomas and Wilmeth Blevins preceded him in death. He
was a welder. Survivors include his loving father Douglas R. Blevins of Matheny; a sister Suzziee Crouse and her
husband Mickey and their children Kissie and Buddy; his two children Madison and Jacob; his fiancée Georgia Toler;

Alta A. "Penny" Brown, 60, of Mallory, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday October 13, 2008 Genesis
Health Care's Logan Center after a short illness. Penny was born April 17, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. She was a
beloved daughter of the late George and Mary Rinas Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death
by her sister Mary Ann Brown; an infant brother Danny Brown and her brother-in-law Donald Lee Davis. Those left to
cherish the memory of Alta "Penny" are her loving sister Cheryl Ann Davis of North Spring, WV; four brothers
George Brown and wife Brenda of Tecumseh, Michigan, James, Timothy and Linde Brown all of North Spring, WV;

James Clyde "Jim" Pennington, 87, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the
Lord on Monday September 22, 2008 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Jim was born November 12, 1920 in Kellysville, WV, a son of the late Edward G.
and Minnie Elizabeth Scott Pennington. He was a retired coal miner having worked
at Eastern Gas & Coal for 42 years at the Kopperston mine. Jim was a founding
member of the Oceana First Church of God where he served 48 years as
treasurer and started the bus ministry, he was also a member of the U.M.W.A. Jim
served the town of Oceana for many years as a councilman, a former mayor and
a founder of the Oceana Volunteer Fire Department. He was a U.S. Army Veteran
having served in World War II and a member of the VFW. His four sisters
Josephine Clemson, Gretchen Jarrell, Envah Hager and Janice Cordle also
preceded him in death along with two brothers Edwin L. Pennington and Chaunce
T. Pennington. Left to cherish Jim's memory are his loving wife of 62 years Maudie
L. Pennington; a son James E. Pennington and wife Denise of Clinton, TN;  two
daughters Carolyn A. Childers and husband Charles of Axton, VA and Tammy G.
Walker and husband Rob of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; a sister Bernice Tincher of

Thursday October 2, 2008 surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born January 28, 1953 in Canton, Ohio, a son of
the late Ralph Russell and Ruth Magalene Tucker Burghy.
He was a former gravedigger and of the Christian faith
having attended the Indian Creek Community Church. He
was also preceded in death by a brother Davy Burghy,
step-son Bobby Long and his first wife Betty Belcher Burghy.

Rev. Bob "Robert" Varney, 76, of Oceana, WV went home to be with his
Lord and Savior Jesus on Friday September 12, 2008 at the Beckley Veterans
Administration Medical Center. Bob was born September 23, 1931 in Huddy,
Kentucky a son of Aline Blackburn Varney of Lillydale, WV and the late Ballard
Varney. Bob was the former owner of Duds and Suds Laundry in Oceana,
and the former Keystone Service Station and Esso Service Station both in
Pineville. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran, a member of the Oceana
Freewill Baptist Church for 28 years, served as Pastor at the Mill Creek
Freewill Baptist Church for 10 years and served as Pastor of the Mount
Carmel Freewill Baptist Church for several years. He was also preceded in
death by a brother Randy Varney, a sister Patsy Vint and an infant sister
Lulabelle Varney; several good friends Raymond Miller, Lacy Davis, Dennis
Allen, Carlos Cook, Eve Hutchinson, Lillian Bradford, Rev. Otis Hensley, John
Lambert, Ernest Barley, Bill Harvey and Otis Cook. Survivors include his loving

Charles Perry "Charlie" Williams, 68, of Fanrock, WV, went home to
be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday September 20,
2008 at the Bower's Hospice House in Beckley following a long and
courageous battle with cancer. Charlie was born May 15, 1940 at
Fanrock, West Virginia a son of the late Glen and Leola Lusk Williams. He
was a retired coal miner having worked for several different mines but
mostly at Capels, a member of the UMWA and also worked at the
Wyoming County Courthouse for 9 1/2 years. Charlie was of the
Protestant Faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on automobiles,
gardening and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Sami Lambert of Ohio
and Susie Aliff of Fanrock; his father-in-law Grover Shaw of Welch;
three very special aunts Beulah Hodges, Ruth Stone and Rhada Marrs;
and a special cousin Faye Adams. Those left to cherish Charlie's
memory are his loving wife of 29 years Brenda Shaw Williams; two sons
Lesley Williams of South Carolina and John Williams and wife Autumn of
Beckley; a daughter, in whom he referred to as his baby, Melissa
Williams and her companion Tracy Vance of Fanrock; two brothers

Richard Lee Blankenship, 57, of Clear Fork, WV, passed away on
Thursday September 11, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born May 22, 1951 in Simon, WV; a son of the late Robert and
Maggie Walker Blankenship. He was a member of the Clear Fork Independent
Church of God, drove a coal truck for 25 years and worked for the town of
Oceana for 5 years. Four sisters, two brothers and a baby daughter also
preceded him in death. Those remaining to cherish his memories include his
loving wife of 32 years, Linda Griffith Blankenship; three sons William Shane
Blankenship and wife Misty of Ohio, Chad Blankenship and Keith Blankenship

Gertrude Glaydia McKinney Hawley, 82, of Rockview, WV passed
away Thursday August 21, 2008 at Princeton Community Hospital. She was
born March 23, 1926 in Herndon, WV, a daughter of the late Ballard and
Alice McKinney. Gertrude was a retired florist having worked many years
at Casteele's Flower Shop in Pineville. Her husband Levi Cleveland Hawley
and a daughter Sylvia Lavern Yanov Hawley also preceded her in death.

and Dora Lynn Cline of Rockview, WV; two sons Edward A. Hawley and

Clarence Richard "Pete" "Scooby" Evans, 55, of Jesse, WV entered
into Heaven on August 17, 2008 from his home. He was born January 24,
1953 at Cyclone, WV a son of the late Robert and Minnie Blankenship
Evans. He was also preceded in death by his son Brian Keith Evans, that he
loved and missed dearly and was taken too soon, and a brother Billy Perry.
Scooby was a member of the UMWA Local 7604 having worked for Eastern
Associated Coal Company for 19 years at the Kopperston # 2 mine. He
attended the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church and was employed by the WV
Department of Highways for the last 9 years and 11 months. Pete enjoyed
4-wheeling, fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and family
and going to church. Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years Judy
Dean Evans; two loving sons Richard Evans and wife Schurla of
Kopperston, and Adam Evans of Jesse; a loving brother Charles Evans and

Martha Ellen "Big Mom" Elkins, 86 went home to be with the Lord on
August 12, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.  She was
born on August 28, 1921 in Big Shoal, Kentucky.  She was a daughter of
the late Leonard and Cynthia Anna Fife Steffey. "Big Mom" as everyone
knew her loved visiting with family and friends.  She enjoyed traveling,
going to the beach and sitting on her front porch.  She was a member of
the New Life Community Church.  In addition to her parents she was
preceded  in death by two sisters Mayfern Warricks, and Naomi Ruth;
four brothers Claude Steffey, Charlie Steffey, Leon Steffey and Leonard
Steffey Jr.; a son Jackie Elkins, and two grandsons Eddie Lee Fleenor
and David Elkins.  Survivors include her loving daughter Barbara Ann
Fleenor and her husband Tommy of Oceana; sisters Eulah Sauter, Kay
Horton and her husband Frank, Bonnie Adkins,  Helen Smith and her
husband George, Hannah Whisenant  and her husband Bryant,
Magdaline  Scalf , and Loretta Harvel; brothers James Steffey and his

Joan Mason, 71, of Stone, KY, formerly of Parkersburg, WV passed away
Monday August 11, 2008 at Williamson Memorial Hospital to join our Heavenly
Father and take her place as an Angel of our Lord. Joan was born March 12,
1938 at Burning Springs, WV. She was a daughter of the late Charles Hubert
and Juanita Menefee Mason of Parkersburg, WV. She was of the Baptist
Faith and was a laborer for 25 years. She was also preceded in death by a
brother Bernard Mason also of Parkersburg, WV. Joan is survived by two

29, 2008 at his home. He was a coal truck driver. He was born March 8, 1959

Beach, FL. Those preceding him in death are two brothers J D Hagerman and
Alvie Justice. Survivors include two daughters Latasha Stiltner and husband
Charlie and Kayla Hagerman all of Hanover, WV; two sons Ricky E. Hagerman,
Jr. and wife Stacey of Wilmington, OH and Donald Hagerman and wife Jackie
of Welch, WV; two grandsons Caleb Stiltner and Cayden Hagerman and a
grandson on the way; two granddaughters Caitlyn Hagerman and Chloe
Hagerman; his companion Reva Horn; step-mom Irene Hagerman; ex-wife

Marcella Sue Belcher Trent, 42, of Kopperston, WV, left by the
hand of Jesus on July 31, 2008 at the Bowers Hospice House,
Beckley, WV after a very long and brave battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born October 22, 1965 in Welch, WV. She loved all of her
family and will be sadly missed. She was preceded in death by her
father Guy Belcher, a brother Guy Belcher, Jr. and two brothers-in-law
Buford Joseph Lester and Bobby Lee Morgan. Survivors include her
husband Jimmie R. Trent II and daughter Samantha Rae Trent.  Other

WV. Dale was a retired coal miner, having worked for US Steel at their
Pinnacle Creek mines and a member of the UMWA. He was also preceded in

Terry Browning and a sister Melissa Browning. Survivors also include two
daughters Tammy Talbert and husband William "Bub" of Pineville and Tara

Iva Mae Harless Ellis, 83, of Crouches Farm, WV, formerly of St.
Petersburg, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Friday July 25, 2008 at
Heartland of Beckley. Iva was a cafeteria worker for many years at
Cabell-Huntington Hospital. She was a member of the St. Petersburg
Presbyterian Church, where she loved volunteering her time for many
church functions.  She was born September 2, 1923 in Amherstdale,
WV, a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Ester Porter Harless.  Her
brother Edward "Bino" Harless of Crouches Farm, also preceded her in
death. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Iva
was a sister-in-law to Macie Harless of Crouches Farm and an aunt to
Edward "Ed" Harless, Jr. and wife Freda of Crouches Farm and  Joyel
Harless and Parrish Harless both of Huntington, WV. She also leaves
behind a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. Iva will be
cremated, as was her wishes and her cremains will be scattered over

23, 2008 at the Bower Hospice House, Beckley, WV.  He was born April
10, 1924 in Raleigh County, WV, a son of the late Harry and Virgie Kidd
Vint. Kenneth was a coal miner and lumberjack and of the Pentecostal
Faith. He enjoyed walking, socializing with family and friends and fishing.
His six brothers Roger Vint, Royal Vint, Rondel Vint, James "JR" Vint,
Curtis Vint and Hershel Vint and two sisters Mary Belcher and Opal Cook
also preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife Virginia

James Lloyd " Jim" Blackburn, 65, of Oceana, WV, passed away
Saturday July 19, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was
born December 6, 1942 in Kopperston, WV a son of the late Lloyd and Nona
Bailey Blackburn. James was a retired coal miner having worked for Eastern
Associated Coal and Peabody Coal Companies for 30 years. Jim served
three years in the U.S. Army with 13 months served in Vietnam, receiving
two bronze stars, good conduct and expert rifleman medals along with
several other honors. He served eight years on the Oceana City Council
was a member and Commander of VFW Post 8364, member of DAV
Wyoming-McDowell Chapter 56 and Commander of the Wyoming County
Honor Guard. Along with his parents, his father-in-law Harold C. Durbin also
preceded him in death. James was of the Baptist faith and attended the
Oceana First Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife and best
friend Linda Durbin Blackburn; a son Brian Blackburn and wife Melissa of
Ravencliff; two daughters Karen Blackburn of Cool Ridge and Kathy Jo Cook
and husband Chris of Oceana. Jim was "PaPa" to five grandchildren whom
he loved dearly, Maddie and Casey Cook, Darian, Carleigh and Gillian
Blackburn. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Kathleen Durbin of
Oceana; two sisters Betty Martin and husband Jerry of Crouches Farm and
Rhennetta Bennett and husband Dennis of Clendenin; brother-in-law Bill
Durbin of Ripley; four nieces, two nephews and his little pomeranian dog
"LuLu". He will also be remembered by best friends Tom Evans, Jeff Laxton,
Jesse Womack, Steve Stone and his Vietnam buddy Richard Harwood of

Kim Dewayne Wells, 46, of Clear Fork, WV passed away Sunday July 13,
2008 at the Beckley VA Medical Center. He was born February 26, 1962 in
Man, West Virginia a son of Norma Jean Keeney Wells and the late
Charles Winford Wells. Kim was a loving husband, father, son, brother and
grandson, who enjoyed playing the guitar, riding his four-wheeler and
listening to music. Kim once said the desire of his heart was to play a song
that would please God. Today, he is with his Heavenly Father fulfilling his
wish.  He was a auto body mechanic, coal truck driver, a US Army Veteran
having served in the Persian Gulf and a member of the Disabled American
Veterans Wyoming-McDowell Chapter 56. Those left behind to love and
cherish his memory are his wife of four years, Melissa R. Conley-Wells; his
mother Norma Jean Wells and her companion James "Ed" Dunn of Clear
Fork, WV;  four sons Kim D. Wells, Jr. and wife Belinda and Benjamin Keith
Wells all of Brenton, WV, Stephen and Cory Wells of Taylorsville, NC; two

Tina Marie (Green) Dye, 41 of Oceana, formerly of Phenix City, AL since 1993.
Passed away July 7th, 2008 at home after losing a battle with cancer. Born July
27, 1966 at Mullens, WV. She was the daughter of Patty Green and the late
Tex Cline and the stepdaughter of Randall Green. Ms. Dye's passion was doll
collecting and spending time with her two poodles. She was preceded in death
by her father Tex Cline , paternal grandparents Robert and Marie Craft, ex
husband Kenneth (Rick) Green and cousin David Lee Jordan. Those left to
cherish her memory is her daughter Alisha Marie Green, her sons Kenneth
Green and Brooke Marshall of  Phenix City , Al. Emanuel Lee (Green) Jordan

Larry E. Lester, 60, of Shady Spring, WV, went home to be with the Lord on
Tuesday July 1, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Larry's last
word to his family was "Victory", letting us know that he has received his
Victory through the power of the Lord. He was born October 10, 1947 at North
Springs, WV.  Larry served in the United States Army from 1968 - 1970, was a
retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed his family and
friends. Larry also had a great passion for fishing and was a talented wood
worker. He greatly enjoyed listening to his sons, Jamie and Travis, singing and
playing the guitar and mandolin. He was preceded in death by his loving
mother, Magnolia Lester and a sister Marie Lipe. Larry is survived by his father
Perry E. Lester and wife Margaret of Beckley; his loving wife of thirty years
Deborah, with whom he truly found the love of his life and his best friend; his
sons Jamie Darrel Lester and wife Michelle of Morgantown and Travis Perry
Lester and wife Melony of Crab Orchard; his grandchildren Hannah, Everett,
Sophia and Lydia and a grandchild who will be born in December, he also
had a special adopted granddaughter Taylor Stewart, all his grandchildren
lovingly referred to him as "Poppy", and they all know that "Poppy" will be
watching over them from the beautiful shores of heaven; a brother John and

Brenda Joyce "Susie" Aliff, 66, of Fanrock, WV went home to be with
her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday June 16, 2008 at her home
surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with
cancer. She was born October 29, 1941 at Fanrock, WV a daughter of the
late Glen and Leola Lusk Williams. Susie was a homemaker as well as a
disabled coal miner from US Steel. She was a member of the Briar Creek
Tabernacle Church and of the UMWA, Local 1713. Susie enjoyed painting,
crocheting, camping and most of all, she loved spending time with her
grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her sister, Sami Lambert of Ohio; her in-laws Ulbert and June Aliff; a
special Aunt Rhada Marrs; and a special cousin and friend Faye Adams.  
Those left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 47 years,

Billie Wayne Hatfield, 41, of Rockhouse, WV, passed away on
Wednesday June 4, 2008 at his home. Billie was born January 6,
1967 in Logan, WV a son of Janet Marie Adams Miller of Brenton,
WV and the late Billie Hatfield. He was a self employed carpenter.
His two brothers Floyd Douglas "Doug" Hatfield and Jamie Miller
also preceded him in death. Survivors along with his mother
include his wife Myrlene Hatfield; two daughters Alisha Dawn
Hatfield of Oceana, WV and Terri Anna Marie Hatfield Crouse of
Kopperston, WV; four step-daughters Angela Nicole Webb of
Kopperston, WV, Reva Lester and husband Willie of Steeles, WV,
Priscilla Toler and husband Scottie of Coal Mountain, WV and Misty
Miranda Lester and husband Dougie of Rose Branch, WV; three
sisters Debroah Ann Hatfield of Bumpass, VA, Rebecca Sue Farley
and husband James of Ocean City, MD and Janette Marie Lester
and husband Mart of Oceana, WV; a brother Bruce Edward
Hutchinson; step-father James A. Miller, Jr. of Brenton, WV;
step-mother Sue Beatley of Alexandria, VA; several grandchildren
and a special grandson Makellan Hurley and a host of other loving

Brayden Chase Lester, of New Richmond, WV, newborn son of
Roger Ray and Nina Dawn Morgan Lester, II, received his angel
wings on Wednesday May 28, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital
for his journey to play in God's playground. Brayden was
preceded in death by his great grandparents Henry C. and Marie

Mary Elizabeth "Bay" Stafford, 84, of Pax, WV, formerly of Oceana, went
to heaven to be with her husband Bill on Wednesday May 21, 2008 at Raleigh
General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born March 6, 1924 in Wyoming
County, WV, a daughter of the late Robert and Jennie Cook Womack. Mary
was a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church for about 49 years and
had attended the Maynard Freewill Baptist Church the last 10 years. Bay
was a homemaker who loved her children, grandchildren and pets with all
her heart. She and her husband Bill loved going to church and talking about
the goodness of God. Her loving husband William Edward "Bill" Stafford and
her son-in-law Dale Elswick also preceded her in death along with a sister
Ruth Ratliff and two brothers Roy Bill and Woodrow Womack. Survivors
include a daughter Rosemary Elswick of Pax, WV; a son William Joe Stafford
and wife Nancy of Savannah, GA; two sisters Rema Jones of Chillicothe, OH

Carl Dean Lane, 57, of Brenton, WV passed away Tuesday May 13,
2008. He was born July 24, 1951 in Wyoming County, WV a son of the
late Lee and Credith Justice Lane. He was a coal miner and logger. Carl
was also preceded in death by his wife Kathy Lane; two brothers
Charles Edward "Eddie" Lane and Roger Lane; and a sister Christine

Lora Opal "Aunt Lo" Cline, 84, of Lynco, WV, passed away Saturday
May 10, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born
November 11, 1923 a daughter of the late Scott and Viola Belcher
Bishop. She was a homemaker, loving mother and the widow of
Raymond Cline.  In addition to her husband and parents she was
preceded in death by eight sisters Zora M. Linville, Ora and Nellie
Stewart, Stella Lyall, Flora, Corby, Holline and Sharlene Bishop and one
brother Corbit Bishop. Survivors include a son Keith Raymond Cline of
Lynco, WV; two sisters Erna L. Gibson and husband Clarence "Buck"

Raymond Miller, 74, of Oceana, WV lost the battle with cancer, but
received his wings on Monday May 12, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital,
Beckley, WV. He was born January 19, 1934 in Cyclone, WV, a son of the
late Cleophas and Dollie Maynor Miller.  Raymond was a member of the
Oceana Freewill Baptist Church and a foreman for 30 plus years at Eastern
Associated Coal Company's Kopperston Mine. In addition to his parents he
was preceded in death by three sisters Elsie Smith, Garnet Miller and Ruby
Miller; six brothers Nathan, Maxwell, Troy, Estel, Junior and Arbry Miller,
Raymond was the last survivor of his immediate family. Survivors include his
loving daughter Sherry Bailey and husband Gene of Sunhill, WV and a loving
son Ray Miller with whom he made his home; a grandson Eugene Bailey and
wife Miranda and a very special great granddaughter Jaiden Bailey; many

Randy V. Gibson, 46, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Oceana, WV
passed away Sunday April 27, 2008 at his home. He was born July 18,
1961 in Beckley, WV, a son of the late Andrew H. and Kathleen Toler
Gibson. Randy was a 1979 graduate of Oceana High School and
attended Concord College, WV Tech and Glenville State. He enjoyed
sports and hearing or reading about news from back home. Along with
his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Carol, a brother
Roger, three nieces Lori Hill, Stephanie Cline and Trona Gibson and a
nephew Brett Gibson. He is survived by four brothers Dewey and wife

James Clarence Brunk, Jr., 55, of Oceana, WV passed away Sunday

late James Clarence Brunk. He was a disabled coal miner and a member of
the UMWA. Along with his father he was preceded in death by his paternal
grandparents Annie and Jim Atwood and maternal grandparents Jim and Ida

Elmer Warn Osborne, 85, of Kopper City Bottom, WV went to be with the
Lord on Thursday April 24, 2008 at his home following a long illness. He was
born October 16, 1922 at Curtis, WV a son of the late Randolph and Sarah
Elizabeth Cook Osborne. He was of the Christian Faith, a member of the
UMWA and a retired coal miner. Elmer enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping,
Ginsenging and spending time with his family. His wife of 58 years Ruth B.
Lusk Osborne preceded him in death along with a son Alton J. Osborne,
seven brothers, five sisters and a daughter-in-law Ruth I. Osborne. Survivors
include three sons Roger and Sue Osborne of Kopper City Bottom, WV,
Warner and Quindora Osborne of Accoville, WV and Otis and Linda Osborne
of Lundale, WV; a brother Waitman Osborne of Columbus, OH; eleven
grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren;
a special caregiver Vicki Lamb and a host of other loving family and friends.

County, WV a daughter of the late Joe and Zettie Allen Ellis. She was also
preceded in death by her husband Arnold Bailey; two sons Bill and
Charles Bailey; a son-in-law Richard "Dutch" Hudson; and three sisters
Madeline Clay, Lillian Fortner and Maudie Ellis. Those left to cherish her

Virginia "Maw" Cook, 79, of Toney Fork, WV, passed away Friday March
14, 2008 following a short illness. She entered into the presence of her Lord
surrounded by her family.  She was born May 31, 1928 in Mullens, WV the
daughter of the late Arthur and Ella Billings of Ostego, WV.  "Maw" was a
member of the Lillyhaven Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and
attending church. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Algie
Dewey Cook, a grandson James Joseph Cook, three brothers and three
sisters.  Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons Rev. Algie R.
