Barbara Kay Bailey, 65, of Shannon Mill Creek, WV went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2026 at her home. She was born on December 20, 1960 in Pineville, WV a daughter of the late John Duty, Jr. and Earnestine Cooke Duty. Barbara loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in life. She loved her church and planting flowers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Robert Duty, Leonard Cooke, Patty A. Duty, and Betty Duty; and her in-laws Leonard and Lillie Mae Bailey. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 32 years, Wayne Bailey; a daughter Melissa Bledsoe and husband Kevin; two sisters Katherine Belcher and husband Mike , and Louise Kilgore; two sisters-in-law Myrtle “Tupie” Blankenship, and Faye Lester and husband Fred; three brothers-in-law Charles “Buddy” Bailey, Robert Bailey and wife Della, and Gary Bailey; three grandchildren Hannah Browning and husband Jason, Brandon Pelfrey and wife Samantha, and Dewayne Bledsoe and wife Erica; five great grandchildren Ryker, Axton, Maverick, Allaina, Valerie, and one on the way, Baby Pelphrey; special friends Missy Bailey, Linda Hatfield, Donna Miller, Shelia Morgan, Kayley Uphold, Phyllis Reed, Lisa Wills, Sue Adams, and Bonnie Blankenship, all members of the Mill Creek Freewill Baptist Church, and a host nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 11th at the Mill Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Brenton, WV with Rev. James Cline, Rev. Bill Goode, and Deacon Larry Bailey officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 am until time of service on Sunday at the church. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated following the service. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, and her nurse Jessica Morgan. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Southern of West Virginia at PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV or the Beckley Cancer Center at 275 Dry Hill Rd., Beckley, WV 25801. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
