Billy Joe Gibson, Sr., 77, of Cyclone, WV passed away on July 29, 2026 at his home peacefully in his sleep. He was born on March 6, 1949 in Cyclone, WV a son of the late Fannie Gibson Davis. Billy was a former Coal Miner. He enjoyed spending time with family. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by Adora “Maw” and Wilson “Paw” Toler who raised him. Survivors include three daughters Brenda Roberts and Lorrie Gibson both of Cyclone, and Mahayla McDonald of Oceana, two sons Michael Gibson of Knoxville, TN and Billy Gibson, Jr. of Cyclone; two sisters Connie (Nathan) Ramsey of Cyclone, and Debbie Davis of Princeton; his ex-wife and friend Nancy Gibson of Cyclone, thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; special friends The Powell’s of Cyclone; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, August 3rd pm the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Pastor Clarence Gibson officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated following the service. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
