Cynthia “Cindy” Elaine Lester, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 30, 2026, in Pineville, WV, leaving behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and a family who will forever feel the absence of her beautiful spirit. Born on January 12, 1972 in Portsmouth, VA the daughter of Travis and Marcella Lester of Rockhouse, WV. Cindy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Belva and Luther Roberts and Buel and Norma Lester; nephew Gavin Kane Lester; and her cousins, Tony Cameron and Rochelle Cameron. She was a woman with a personality as bright as her smile and a heart that loved without limits. She was loving, strong-willed, and just the right amount of stubborn. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, stand her ground, or fight for the people she loved. Beneath that stubborn streak was a heart of gold and a willingness to help anyone in need. Above all else, Cindy was a devoted mother and grandmother who always put her children and grandson before herself. Cindy was a Baileysville High School graduate class of 1990. Cindy dedicated 26 years of her life to serving others as an X-ray & Ultrasound Technician at Welch Community Hospital before retiring. Her years of service reflected her hardworking nature, compassion, and dedication to helping those around her. Throughout her life, she demonstrated remarkable strength, determination, and resilience, even when faced with challenges of her own. Of all the titles Cindy held throughout her life, being a mother and grandmother were undoubtedly among her most treasured. She took tremendous pride in her children, Zachary and Haley, and bonus children Noah and Elijah Cameron and all they had accomplished throughout their lives. Their successes, both big and small, brought her immeasurable joy, and she never missed an opportunity to express how proud she was of the people they had become. Some of her most cherished memories were spent cheering on Haley at her basketball games. Cindy was always the loudest person in the stands, making sure Haley could hear her encouragement above everyone else. Whether celebrating a great play or simply cheering her daughter on, she was Haley's biggest fan. Those moments reflected the kind of mother she was—always present, always supportive, and never afraid to show just how much she loved her children. Her grandson, Daxon Butcher, was her entire world. She loved him beyond measure and was so excited to watch him grow, celebrate his milestones, and make countless memories together. Although their time together was far too short, the love she had for him was immeasurable and will forever be a part of his story. Cindy found happiness in life's beautiful moments, whether it was taking trips, spending time at the beach, enjoying the company of her beloved cat, Tammy, or simply being surrounded by those she loved. She also shared a special bond with her loving partner, Sherwood Leo, who held a meaningful place in her heart. In addition to her parents, and her loving partner, those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Zachary Butcher and his fiancée, Taylor McCracken, of Brenton, WV, and Haley Butcher (Savannah Griffith), of Charleston, WV; bonus children Noah and Elijah Cameron; her beloved grandson, Daxon Butcher; her brother, James Lester, and his wife, Latoya Lester; niece Kendyl Ramseur; her great aunt’s and uncle Bobby and Evelyn Warrix, Hulda Oyler; her aunt’s and uncle’s include Eddie and Delilah Cameron, Lisa and Rodney England, Dennis and Donna Lester, Glen and Lee Ann Riffe; and a magnitude of other family members and friends whose lives were touched by her love. She was taken from those who loved her far too soon, with so many memories still waiting to be made, places left to see, and moments left to share. While her family will forever wish for just one more conversation, one more hug, and one more day together, they will carry her love, her strength, and her unforgettable spirit with them always. Cindy's passing leaves a void that words could never adequately describe. Her time here was far too short, but the love she gave will last a lifetime. She will forever be loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 8th at the Christian Fellowship Worship Center, Pineville, WV with Pastor Robert Hunt, and Pastor Bill Goode officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 5-8:00 pm on Saturday, November 7th at the church. Pallbearers will be James Lester, Scott Lester, Chris Lester, Roger Lester, Noah Cameron, and Elijah Cameron. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
