Darlene Blankenship Carter, 74, of Glen Fork, WV went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2026 at her home. She was born on September 17, 1951 in Sunhill, WV a daughter of the late Finley Harvey and Margie Blankenship Rowe. Darlene was a custodian for the Wyoming County Board of Education. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers Terry Rowe and Johnny Rowe, and two sisters Vivian Gaye Belcher, and Candi Ashby. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 46 years, Danny Carter, four sons Thomas (Linda) Brown of Lynco, Clayton (Julia) Brown of Bluewell, Clifton (Misty) Brown of Glen Fork, and D.J. (Stephanie) Carter of Glen Fork, a sister Jeanette Bailey and companion Jay Edwards of VA, a brother Gerald Rowe of Indian Creek, grandchildren Briane (Shawn Brooks) Bishop, Kelsey (Shane) Johnson Toler, Kylee (Dan) Paynter, Travis (Katie) Brown, Halie Carter, Garrett Brown, Abigail (Brandon) Green, Megan (Garrett) Bailey, Alia Sutton, Kayden Brown, Dylan Carter, and Jasper (Garnett) Carter, great grandchildren Miley and Branson Toler, Blair Brown, Marlowe Bailey, Tainya, Shaun, Sophia, Kinsley, Kamden, Jax, Rylan and Maddie Brooks, lifelong best friends Bryson James, Oliver Paynter, Faye Belcher and Tammy Burrell, and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, May 30th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Jonathan Cresong officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Carter Cemetery, Barkers Ridge, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Southern West Virginia. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
