Donald Wayne Vance, 68, of Jesse, WV went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born on July 26, 1957 in Tazewell County, VA a son of the late Helen Louise Mitchell and Alexander Vance, Sr. Donald was a proud retired coal miner, a devoted husband to his wife, Diana Vance for nearly 50 years, and a loving dad / Papaw who cherished his sons and grandchildren more than anything. He loved Jesus with all his heart and found joy in sharing his God-given gift of music through his guitar. He will be remembered for his hard work, his strong faith, and the deep love he gave his family every day of his life. One special thing about him was that before he passed, her was determined to finish reading his Bible, and he was in the Book of Acts of the Apostles. Acts 20:25 says, “And now, behold, I know that ye all… shall see my face no more,” The verse speaks of a loving farewell and reminds us that while we may not see him again on this earth, his faith and love will stay with us forever. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Diana Vance, his four brothers, Roger Vance, Alexander Vance, Jr., Edward Vance, and Ricky Vance, two sisters Delorise Vance Roberts, and Phyllis Vance Chapman. Those left to cherish his memory includes his sons, Jesse (Betty) Vance of Pineville, and John (Melinda) Vance of Pineville, his brother William Aronald (Judy) Vance of Pineville, and a host of his grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other loving family who will forever cherish him their hearts. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, May 21st in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Bro. Clay Tincher officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Lester Cemetery, Indian Creek, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
