Franklin Workman, Jr., known to many as “June Bug”, 77, of Glen Daniel, West Virginia passed away on July 26, 2026 at his home following a short illness. Born July 18, 1949, in Lorado, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Frank Lee Workman, Sr. and Nancy Huffman Workman and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Frank spent 20 years working as an underground coal miner before opening his own mining equipment business in Glen Daniel, West Virginia. He shared 49 loving years of marriage with his wife, Joyce Workman, and together they built a close-knit family that was the center of his life. He enjoyed traveling, visiting family and friends along Buffalo Creek and Huff Creek, squirrel hunting, working on his tractor, camping, and relaxing on his back porch. Above all, he cherished time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters and his precious daughter, Melissa Lynn Goodson. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Workman; beloved son-in-law Richard Goodson; daughters Misty (Zach) Bihler and Belinda Brooks; special grandson Austin (Brittany) Worley; granddaughters Shannan (Travis) Smith and Kaylee Lester; great-grandsons Kruize Smith and Grayson Ashley; and a great-grandson, Baby Boy Worley, expected in November. Also surviving Frank are many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 2nd, in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Pastor Ronnie Hall officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 3:00 pm until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated following the service. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
