Gary Dale Stewart, 64, of Forest Hill, WV, formerly of Kopperston passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Summers County ARH Hospital, Hinton, WV. He was born on April 14, 1962 in Pineville, WV a son of the late Herndon and Ernie Betty Toler Stewart. Gary was a member of the UMWA, the Mason’s and a 1981 graduate of Oceana High School. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers Paris, Anthony and Joe Stewart; a nephew Michael Stewart; a niece Amber Lusk; and a brother-in-law Delmas Lusk. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 44 years Rhonda Faye Kinser Stewart; his children, Leslie Johnson and husband Shon of Oceana, Amanda Toler and husband Codie of Kopperston, and Megan Stewart of Baileysville, Matthew Stewart of Forest Hill, Kaylee Stewart of Princeton, Adrianna Stewart and fiancé Tanner Lusk, Elliott whom he thought the world of, and Jayden Stewart of Morgantown; his grandchildren Hunter Philpot of VA, and Alexis Hurley of Forest Hill; sisters Polly Stewart, Brenda Harvey and husband Paul, and Linda Lusk; his twin brother Terry Stewart and wife Nan and brother Jimmy Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews whom he loved dearly. Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Tuesday, September 15th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV With Rev. Erwin Gregory officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11 am until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
