On Tuesday, June 2, Karen Huffman, 86, of Kopperston, WV was called to her heavenly Home. Karen was born in Wilkesboro, NC August 16, 1939 to the late Ernest and Edna Kilby. Loved ones who were there to welcome her were her loving husband of 65 years, Billy Ray Huffman, special Daughter-in-law Peggy Huffman, siblings Radell White, Marie Pressley, Odell Kilby, Vonley Kilby, Ottis Kilby, JD Kilby, and Jean McCallister. Those left to carry on the faith and good news of Jesus Christ are her siblings Rache l(the late Boyd) Huffman of Wilkesboro, NC and Glen (Nita) Kilby of Kannapolis, NC. Sons Ken (Betty) Huffman of Kopperston, WV and Frank (Jeanie) Huffman of Martinsville, Va. Her legacy will continue through her grandchildren Chad (Jennifer) Huffman of Hurricane, WV, Serena (Louie) Riffe of Oceana, WV, Ben Huffman of Martinsville, VA, and Laura Kate Huffman of Martinsville, VA. Great grandchildren Chelsea (Nick) Green, Alyiah Riffe, Alyza Jackson, Ian Huffman, Hunter Huffman, Jaxon Huffman, and Jase Riffe. Great-great Grandchildren Adalynn and Zechariah Green. Special to Karen’s heart Carol (Jerry) Rose, Amy Kirkendall, Lindsay Toler, Whittney Kirkendall, Emma Kirkendoll, Dezi Kirkendall, and Kate Kirkendoll. Karen was a cherished member of Oceana Freewill Baptist church for 16 years and Oceana Family Praise and Worship for 27 years. Karen was a devoted prayer warrior and mentor to so many with the accompany of her wonderful Best friends AnnaJean Delong, Brenda Cook, Phyllis Blankenship, and the late Alice Gross. When you saw one you usually saw them all. Funeral services to honor Karen Huffman will be held at 12pm on Saturday, June 6th at Family Praise and Worship, Oceana, WV with Pastor Herman Cook and Pastor Landon Kennedy officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 5pm-8pm on Friday, June 5th at the church. Pall bearers will be Chad Huffman, Ben Huffman, Louie Riffe, Nick Green, Ian, and Hunter Huffman.
