Marion Leota Youmans Parish, 95, of Ravencliff, WV slipped peacefully from this life at 12:55 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2026 into Glory and Majesty of Heaven and into The Presence of the Most High God that she believed in and served, and the Lord Jesus Christ, the one who died for all. Marion was born on December 25, 1930 in Ocala, FL to Raleigh and Beulah Youmans Mom always delighted in telling people she was named “Marion” after being born in Ocala, Marion County FL. Mom was the mother of four children, the first being still born. She was a loving, devoted and protective mother who took excellent care of her children. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren. Mom was an excellent house keeper, and cook providing wonderful meals for daddy and us kids. That was back in the day when most baking was done from scratch…and we all sure enjoyed those homemade desserts. Mom was a pianist and organist for 65 years playing in several churches over the years as we relocated from Alachua, FL to Groveland, FL due to daddy’s railroad career. She was an outstanding seamstress making much of our clothing, especially our dressed. She was a perfectionist-everything had to match. Even in her senior years as mom grew older, she was amazing. She was still on her feet. And loved us reading the Bible together and she memorized many scriptures. Two of her favorites that she memorized were Psalm 103: 1-5 and Joshua 1:8. She was a pleasant and kind person and easy to care for. On March 11, 2021 mom moved to West Virginia fom Florida to live with her oldest daughter, Linda, where she remained until her passing. Mom is preceded in death by her parents, and her only sibling. She is survived by her three children, Linda McClure of WV, Jack Griffin, Jr. of WV, and Ali Roberson of Dunnellon, FL; three grandchildren of January West of Dunnellon, FL, Justin McClure of WV, and Logan Griffin of WV; twelve great grandchildren Levi, Zack, Austyn, Wyatt, Colt, Austin, Alivia, Addison, Samuel and Sage; two great grandchildren Brinleigh, and Tripp; and a host of other loving family and friends. A memorial service honoring our mother will be held at 2:00 pm on October 18, 2026 at the Glen Fork Church of God, Glen Fork, WV with Pastor Darrell Stapleton officiating. Funeral service will also be held in Florida. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
