Mary Ann Couch, 68, of Oceana, WV, gained her angel wings on May 7th, 2026 with her loving husband by her side. She was born November 11th, 1957, in Pineville WV, a daughter of the late Mary Frances (Morgan) Matney and Aaron Rice Matney. Mary Ann was a member of Joseph Baptist Church in Lynco, WV. In her early years she made Oceana her home where she dedicated her life to being a homemaker and raising her children in a happy and loving home. Her greatest accomplishment in life was being an impeccable wife, mother and grandmother. Throughout her journey, she touched many lives with her wisdom, love and an unwavering spirit of perseverance. Her willingness to overcome many obstacles in life will leave a lasting impact on all those left to cherish her memory all while leaving behind a legacy of love, strength and compassion that will live on in all of us. Mary Ann found great joy in the everyday moments of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never wanted to miss a thing whether it was big or small. She loved her simple life of watching old reruns on TV, working on her crossword puzzles or just sharing meals around the table that led to hour long conversations. These moments became the foundation of cherished memories that we will forever hold in our hearts. She is proceeded in death by not only her parents but her son Richard (Ricky) Allen Couch, Brothers, Jr Matney, Luther Matney and sister Marina Matney. Those left to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy is her husband of 52 years Allen Couch of Oceana, daughter Kelly Hall (Mark) of Kansas City, Missouri, Daughter in law Julie Bailey of Oceana, Grandsons, Tyler Couch (Kasie) of Oceana, Garrett Couch (Haley) of Oceana, Nathan Hall and Bryson Hall both of Kansas City, Missouri, her great grandchildren Ivy Mae Couch and Richard Hudson Lee Couch both of Oceana, a host of friends and church family. Funeral service will be held at 12pm on Thursday May 14th, 2026 at Joseph Baptist Church, 103rd St Lynco, WV 24857 with Pastor William Cook officiating. Friends are welcome to gather from 11:00am until time of service. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. The family would like to send out a special heartfelt Thank You to Dr Mustafa Rahim and his staff for the excellent care given. The family is being serviced by Stafford Family Funeral Home.
