With broken hearts but full spirits we announce the passing of our beautiful mother Nancy “Nannie, Nana” Workman, passed away surrounded by love at 5:12 am on Tuesday September 18th 2026 in Oceana, WV. Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She always found a reason to laugh and loved her family deeply. In the later years of her life, she faced dementia with incredible strength. It was a difficult journey, but she fought hard and was surrounded by love through it all. Dementia may have changed many things, but it could never take away the love she gave, the lives she touched, or the memories her family will carry forever. While saying goodbye is incredibly difficult, we find comfort in knowing that her struggle is over and that she is at peace. Her laughter will be remembered, as well as her love. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years Ward Workman; daughters Karri Lester (Scott) and Sara Belcher (Charlie); son Bradley Workman (Latoya); grandchildren Liam Lester (Morgan), Macon Lester, Emilee Jenkins (Shane), Ashley Farley (Johnny), Holly Vitruls (Mikey), Summer Belcher, Kiersten Workman, Brooklyn Workman, Willow Workman, and Nakoa Workman; great grandchildren Johnny Lee, Adalyn, Beau, Cason, Rosaleigh, Ella, and Everlee Grace; as well as the rest of her family that meant the world to her. Although our hearts ache because we can no longer see her, we are thankful for every memory, every laugh, and every moment of love she gave us. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the beautiful imprint she left on our lives can never be taken away. Mom, you were deeply loved, and you always will be. Until we meet again, we will carry you with us—in our hearts. In keeping with Nancy’s wishes she will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be at a later date that will be full of food, laughs, sharing stories, and front porch sitting that she loved so much! The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
