Opal Hatfield Bailey, 81, of Rock House, WV passed away on June 30, 2026 at her home. She was born on July 2, 1944 in Guyan, WV a daughter of the late Kelly E. and Lessie Morgan Hatfield. Opal was a devoted wife to the late Delmer Frelin Bailey. Not a member of any local church, Opal was a born again believer in Jesus Christ and desires all of her family and friends to join her there in Christ’s heaven. She was a 1961 graduate of Baileysville High School. In addition to her parents, and husband she is preceded in death by three brothers Jim Hatfield, Curtis Hatfield, and Hubert Hatfield. Those left to cherish her memory include her four children Roberta Bailey Myers and husband Rod of Sandy Ridge, NC, Rebecca Bailey Lockhart of Easily, SC, Jimmy Bailey and wife Frances Music Bailey of Rock House, and Andrew Bailey and wife Stephanie of Amigo. She also leaves behind her trusty companion Eli. Opals legacy lives on through her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jessica Myers, Tanner Myers, Emily Myers Craddock, Jordan Lockhart, Chase Lockhart, Tristan Bailey, Cheyenne Smith, Kyle Bailey, Logan Bailey, Alexa Bailey, Adaline Myers, Finley Myers, Henry Myers and Ellie Mae Craddock. She is also survived by her three sisters Grethel Dixon, Donnie Lavenders, and Liz Lester; a brother Travis Hatfield; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, July 7th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Roger Browning officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 am until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
