Glen Fork

Obituary

In loving memory of Shirley Ann Ritchie Hash, affectionately called Mommy. She resided in Glen Fork WV in her marital home with the love of her life, her husband, Jerry Hash, of 43 years. Shirley was an honorable & devoted wife, an exceptional mother, a very affectionate, loving grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, cherished friend, & a devout Christian who loved & served the Lord with her whole heart. Shirley dearly loved & cherished her Bellemeade Church, with Pastor Nathan Vance. She gained her heavenly wings Friday, September 4th, 2026 @ 5:30 pm, with her loving husband Jerry, Pastor Ernest Francis, her daughters, her baby sister Phyllis Reid, her cherished sister & brother in law, Melissa & Johnny Lucas, holding on to her, praying for her. We all knew when the Holy Ghost showed up on scene, with Brother Ernest speaking God’s holy language as a light surrounded her, she peacefully closed her eyes & smiled, She had gained her heavenly wings! It was such an incredible, special, comforting sight. We thank you Jesus! She was born August 19, 1948, born & raised in Matney Town, daughter of the late Claude & Evelinna Ritchie. She spent her married life & raised her children in Glen Fork, WV. She lived a life defined by love, strength, kindness and devotion to her husband, family, friends, & especially, to Jesus Christ. She possessed a remarkable gift for making people feel welcomed, comfortable, loved. Her love was steadfast & unconditional & her presence brought warmth wherever she went. Left to mourn her passing, her loving husband, Jerry Hash, her Children: Her oldest daughter Marina (Ray) Harmon, who moved in, to be her fulltime caretaker. Her other children include Karen (Jason) Tilley, Donna (Tommy Powers), Casey (Chris) Tolliver, and Jerry Wayne (Rosie Tilley). She has countless grandbabies, great grandbabies, & great great grandbabies, she loved so dearly, including a new little girl on the way! She was preceded in death by her only son, David Michael Tilley, her best friend Sissy Tilley, her sisters Esther Toler & Loretta Tilley, & her brothers James & Roger Ritchie. There’s countless ways her presence made this world a little brighter. Though our hearts are broken we are grateful for the time we had with her. Her incredible legacy will live on in her husband, her children, her babies. She will be forever loved, forever remembered, forever missed. Fly high with the angels mommy, rest in Jesus. We wanna shout out an extra heartfelt God bless you & thank you, to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, Brother Ernest Francis, & her longtime Pastor, Brother Nathan Vance & his wife, Missy.
