Stevy Bailey, 82, of Cyclone, WV went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2026 at CAMC General, Charleston, WV. He was born on June 18, 1944 in Cyclone, WV a son of the late Jay and Ada Osborne Bailey. Stevy was a member of Bright Prospect Missionary Baptist Church and the UMWA. He was an avid fisherman and loved fishing at Toler’s Fishing Pond. He was a coal miner for 26 years and loved hunting, camping and watching westerns and football. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Jason and Jessie Bailey; sisters Macil James, Hailey “Wee” Wykle, Magadalene Watts, Offa Tolliver, Velva Tolliver, Stollie Lusk, and Lona Bailey. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 61 years Jackie Lusk Bailey; a daughter Stephanie Paynter and husband Daron; three sons Rick Bailey and wife Tricia, Brad Bailey and wife Tammy, and Chad Bailey; a sister Rachel Workman; a brother Chucky Bailey; ten grandchildren Clay and Luke Paynter who he helped raise, and were like his own sons, Adrienne Proffitt, Carey Bailey, Tara Hasrris, Matt Bailey, Jared Bailey, Lakyn Fletcher, Cassy Bailey, and Curkland Bailey; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 12th at Bright Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, Cyclone, WV with Pastor Randall Bailey, and Pastor Paul Brown officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Bailey Family Cemetery, Brushy Fork, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12:00 pm until time of service on Monday at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
